Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), nodes, equipped with sensors and wireless communication devices, are scattered and they build autonomous-decentralized networks. We can collect sensed data of these nodes from the networks. Since nodes are battery-driven devices, the restraint of power consumption is a main concern in WSNs. As an approach, WSNs with mobile sinks are now attracting much attention. A mobile sink (e.g. robots) travels around a network and collects data of the neighboring sensor nodes, and thus, it can prolong network lifetime by power-saving communication with each node. A WSN is divided into multiple clusters, which a mobile sink visits one-by-one. Therefore, a clustering algorithm which optimizes the entire power consumption is important. In this paper, we study a clustering algorithm which takes into account the connectivity between each node.
