Vector network analyzer (VNA) plays a significant role in the measurement and design of radio frequency system. Multi-port correlator that uses the superposition principle can detect the complex ratio of two incident waves from power measurements. So we can apply it to development of a simple VNA system. In this report, we modeled the high-frequency circuit in a multi-port wave correlator based VNA for two-port DUT using the signal flow graph (SFG), and realized that there are errors from reflections of DUT ports in the measurements. Then, we proposed a method for calibrating these errors. Finally, we verified the effectiveness of the modeling and the calibration method from measurement results of a prototype multi-port wave correlator based VNA. |
