A study on service contention control in NGN SIP server

(in English) NTT is proceeding with implementation of the Next Generation Network (NGN) that is based on the Internet Protocol (IP) and is integrated with the data and the voice communication. When some 3rd Party intends to provide some additional services on the NGN, these services will be provided by the Application Server (AS) specified in 3GPP. However, as the number of additional services increases, various service contentions will increase similarly. Thus, it is necessary to have the service contention control function in the Network.
In this paper, we consider the contentions that may occur when some additional services are provided by 3rd Party ASs, and the necessary functions for contention control in the Network. In addition, we propose the contention control method using the information categorized by some contention conditions.
