Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) During software development, APIs are used to reuse existing software. However, it is said APIs are difficult to use properly. In this paper, we conduct analysis of method calls related to bug fixing. Our research question is: How bugs with respect to method calls are fixed? To answer the question, we analyze method call-related bug-fixes with four types:(1)method calls are inserted or deleted, (2)arguments of method calls are changed, (3)the values of arguments are changed and (4)conditions of method calls are changed. To capture the effects of changes on method calls, we propose a technique based on program dependency graph. A case study is conducted with seven open source projects and it is found that insertions or deletions of method calls are often appeared. In addition, method calls where a particular type often appears are found out.
