| (in English) | In this study, we aimed at validating the PD control model and the intermittent control model as models of the human upright postural control mechanism. To this end we measured postural sway during quiet stance from healthy subjects in response to mechanical stimuli at sole of feet. Each stimulus was applied when a change in the contact pressure at either left or right foot was beyond a given threshold value. Two models were used to reproduce the experimentally observed sway patterns. It was shown that the changes in the postural sway patterns caused by the stimuli could be better interpreted by the intermittent control model rather than the PD control model. Moreover it was suggested that appropriate stimuli could enhance the cutaneous sensory information during the postural sway. | |
