We proposed newly channelized tunable optical dispersion compensators (TODCs) consisting of an AWG-based spectrometer and a liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS)-based spatial light modulator. We demonstrated the 16-wavelength channel-by-channel operation of the TODC with the single-pass configuration. We also demonstrated the 40-wavelength channelized operation of the TODC with the double-pass configuration. The TODC substitute the same number of conventional TODCs as the number of channels with a single module, and thus is a promising candidate for use in future networks. |
