The Pulse Coupled Neural Network (PCNN) is a simulation model of neurons' synchronization phenomena in visual cortex.Neurons in the PCNN output various firing pattern consisted of pulses affected by external input and connected neurons.The PCNN had been applied to image processing.The image recognition using the PCNN-Icon is one of the image processing method using the PCNN.The PCNN-Icon is time series of the number of firing neurons.The image recognition using PCNN-Icon need to optimize parameters of the PCNN.We had proposed optimization parameters of the PCNN using genetic algorithm(GA).However,weight matrix of the PCNN has not been optimized.In this study,we propose method using GA to optimize weight matrix of the PCNN for image recognition.Simulation results show that the optimization of weight matrix of the PCNN for image recognition is successful. |
