The understanding of elderly's daily activity is important for the support of elderly's life and the support for care workers. The elderly's movement is greatly different from the young people's movement. In this study, using a small wireless hybrid sensor with six-axes, we measure the movement of regional elderlys and analyze it. The peak acceleration appears in a specific direction of the elderly's movement such as the sitting-down, standing-up, or walking. The direction where the acceleration is the largest in standing-up is for above the perpendicular, the direction where the acceleration is the largest in sitting-down is for below the perpendicular, and the direction where the acceleration is large in walking is perpendicular and horizontal. Some elderly's movements could be detected by measuring the acceleration. |
