In this paper, we propose two new interference power allocation criteria in the CF-based adaptive PAPR reduction method for eigenmode MIMO-OFDM signals. In the previous our paper, the interference power allocation criterion concentrates interference power caused by CF on the worst channel condition stream(s). This brings about the reduced PAPR reduction capability due to the limited degree of freedom in the interference signal for PAPR reduction, although the capacity degradation can be minimized. The aim of newly evaluated interference power allocation criteria in the paper is to improve the tradeoff between the capacity and PAPR by alleviating the strict interference limitation to the worst channel condition stream(s). We consider two interference power allocation criteria in the paper. First method allows the interference to the streams which has a lower channel capacity than the threshold value determined from the average capacity assuming no CF operation. Second method defines the allowable capacity decrease margin which is common to all streams, and allows interference to all streams provided that the capacity decrease of respective streams due to interference is within the allowable margin. The simulation results elucidate that the proposed new interference power allocation criteria can improve the tradeoff between the capacity and PAPR. |
