Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Emissions from electrical equipment create disturbances to radio wave reception, and the limit and test method has been published. However, the evaluation method of the disturbances was determined from the study of the analog radio waves reception. Therefore, we should investigate whether the method is appropriate for the digital TV signal reception. In this report, we investigate the influence on the digital TV signal by the disturbances emitted from the equipment, for example an inverter, a PC, and a microcomputer. The emission from equipment was measured by using the receivers whose bandwidth was wider than that of TV receiver, and the signal whose bandwidth was the same as the TV receiver was extracted by means of the discrete fourier transform (DFT). The artificial disturbances were generated by means of an arbitrary waveform generator. The QP value, the APD value, and the average power were measured with these disturbances and the TV signal, and the relations among the bit error rate (BER), the image quality, and these disturbances levels were investigated. The mean opinion score (MOS) was used to evaluate the image quality, and the TV signal receiver with BER detector was used to measure the BER. The results showed that the influence by the wideband disturbances was severer than that of the narrowband disturbances, and the evaluation by means of the average power was effective because the deviation by the kind of the disturbances was smallest in these detectors. The investigation also indicated that the correlation between MOS value and BER existed and the MOS value could be estimated from the BER.
