RoF channel accommodated in WDM networks will be affected by bursty channel via gain transient of an 1-R repeater and results in intensity fluctuation of RF signal generated from RoF signal. Transient-suppressed EDFA (TS-EDFA) can successfully suppress such transient and fluctuation, however, there is still remaining residual transient because of long term relaxation of EDFA. In this report, we demonstrated the combination of TS-EDFA and gain stabilization. Then we evaluated the role of TS-EDFA in such configuration and found that TS-EDFA is indispensable in comparison of commercial EDFA. |
