An Application of Line Strip Multibeam Transmitter and Angle Diversity Receiver to Optical Impulse Modulation for Indoor Wireless Optical Communication

(in English) Indoor wireless optical communication is disturbed by background noise mainly from incandescent light and daylight, and has severe constraint to the transmitted optical power.
Additionaly, intersymbol interference becomes a problem in diffusing system.
For these reasons, the modulation scheme that is immune to background noise and ISI is desired.
While OIM is robust to ISI at high data rate without increasing complexity, Optical Impulse Modulation(OIM) is as high power efficiency as Pulse Position Mudulation(PPM).
However the channel model used for simulating in previous reseaches is so simple.
At this work, firstly we define the simulation room without background noise and carry out the simulation comparing between OIM and PPM.
Line Strip Multibeam(LSM) Transmitter is applied to the diffuse OIM system for improving the BER performance at this room.
Then, at by introducing a noise source using incandescent light we carry out simulation by applying LSM Transmitter and angle diversity receiver to the conventional transmitter and receiver.
