Design of Signal Processing Platform for 5GHz MIMO Wireless Communication

(in English) The combination of MIMO and OFDM techniques is the state of the art of the wireless modulation technique that have been applied in various modern wireless communication systems like 3GPP LTE, WiMAX, and WLAN IEEE 802.11n. These techniques not only improve the throughput but they also provide more robust wireless communication system. Various MIMO-OFDM demodulation algorithms have been developed to improve the MIMO-OFDM system performance. In order to gain comprehensive comparison result, the existing MIMO-OFDM demodulation technique should be evaluated not only in system level simulation but also in the hardware implementation. In this paper, we report about a programmable device platform consisting RF and evaluate a baseband transceiver modules using 5 GHz WLAN IEEE 802.11n system. By using this platform, the hardware evaluation that involves various demodulation algorithms can be carried out.
