Throughput of Dual-mode PLC system with Simultaneous and Selective Transmission

(in English) As the injection and reception modes of power-line communication (PLC) signals, two modes of the differential and common can be used, so that there are four kinds of propagation modes.
The proposing dual-mode transmission PLC system uses these propagation modes.
In this paper, two types of the dual-mode system have been studied.
One is called ``selective type'' that chooses the best propagation mode from four modes.
Another type is ``simultaneous'' type, which utilizes the two injection and reception modes at the same time.
To evaluate the proposing systems, two kinds of power distribution systems were constructed, which were assumed as a DC power system in house and ship, respectively.
By using these DC power distribution systems, the throughput performance was measured.
As a result, if the electrical balance of the power-line channels was good, the throughput of the simultaneous type achieved 1.9 times or more performance comparing to that of the conventional type.
Moreover, even if the balance was not good, the obtained performance was equal to or more than that of the conventional type by using the proposing method which used both types properly.
