A numerical study on traffic flow by Nagel-Schreckenberg model and optimal velocity model
Atsushi Kubo, Takashi Hikihara (Kyoto Univ.) NLP2010-188
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Cellular automaton(CA) models and following models are traffic microscopic models.
Nagel-Schreckenberg(NS) model is a CA model,
adopted as one of the basic models applicable to analysis of real traffic flow.
On the other hand, optimal velocity model, recognized as one of following models,
can represent various traffic flow characteristics.
The relationship between the NS model and the optimal velocity model is not clear,
though the relationship between the optimal velocity model and other CA models has been confirmed recently.
In this report, we numerically discuss the similarities and the differences between both models
of the NS model and the optimal velocity model.
