A tandem photo electrochemical solar cell(T-PEC cell) is a wet solar cell which uses photo reaction at interfaces between semiconductors/electrolyte with irradiation. The T-PEC cell has the tandem structure and is composed of two kinds of semiconductors. In this work, we used ZnO thin films as a n-type semiconductor, and SnS thin films as a p-type semiconductor. These thin films were on ITO glass substrates by the electrochemical deposition method. The two semiconductor electrodes were clamped, and the space between them was filled with electrolyte. Both the interfaces between semiconductors/electrolyte became Schottky junction, and photovoltaic effects were confirmed for the T-PEC cell. |
