Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Visually impaired and blind people utilise aural messages as alternative ones for usual visual materials. In this report, perception experiment with visually impaired and blind people was conducted to investigate the relationship with features of text-reading voices (synthetic voices), content of text, and individual user characteristics. Subjects who use screen reader in everyday life prefer typical synthetic voice compared to those who do not use PCs. We point out certain issues for improving use situation of this kind of synthetic voice service for visually impaired and blind people.
