A Lloyd-Max based quantization algorithm for digital images with sparse histogram

(in English) This paper proposes an improved implementation method based on Lloyd-Max criteria for digital images with sparse histogram.
Lloyd-Max criteria is known as the best quantization method to minimize mean square error.
However, since sufficient condition is unconsidered when Lloyd-Max criteria is implemented, it is not always deliver optimal performance.
We present an improved implementation method and simulated how it quantizes better using high dynamic range image(HDR).
Our method deliver better image quality than Lloyd-Max method that is mounted MATLAB, and it is more effective for divided images than conventional one.
