[Invited Talk] Optical OFDM transmission technologies for beyond 100 Gbit/s

(in English) In order to satisfy the demand for a further increase of data traffic in optical networks, the use of spectrally efficient modulation formats with high data rate per wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) channel are indispensable. Optical OFDM is one of promising technologies to increase a spectral efficiency. First of all, it has a small linear crosstalk between WDM channels because of its well defined spectral shape. In addition, OFDM is easily scalable to higher level modulation formats. Multi-band OFDM modulation scheme has been proposed as one of technologies to increase a channel bit-rate. In this paper, the trend of OFDM transmission with over 100 Gbit/s is reviewed and an example of transmission experiment with 3 x 458 Gbit/s at 8 bit/s/Hz SE utilizing multi-band OFDM modulation scheme are explained.
