We have successfully developed large capacity stationary lithium-ion batteries for a back up power supply of telecommunication systems by including flame retardants in an electrolyte and a cathode to improve safety. In addition, long lifetime is prospected by using partially substituted lithium manganese oxide spinel as a cathode active materian and using optimized electrolyte. We also developed a battery management system for Li-ion batteries for telecommunication equipment. We performed a system test with simulated battery operation and confirmed the normal operation and safety. |
