(in English) Because thermal infrared radiation from crop canopies is reflected with the transpiration rate of the canopy, remote sensing of this radiation is useful for evaluating plant physiological status nondestructively. However, because the evaluation requires microclimate data, such as solar radiation, air temperature and wind velocity, in general methods, the application is mostly limited to surface-based observation. To eliminate these constraints, we developed an evaluation method that requires vapor pressure in the atmosphere in addition to canopy temperature. This manuscript describes the proposed method and discusses its applicability to the field.
