A mobile device which has some network interfaces such as CDMA interface, Wi-Fi interface and WiMAX interface is in widespread use. The software of mobile devices which has various functions can be added and deleted. The mobile devices are used changing the network software and the network interfaces. When the browser accesses the Web server, it passes through such as OS, a wireless driver, a wireless interface, a router, a gateway. The combination of these components varies and shows dynamic changes to times because the network interface is used with changing. In order to identify a fault caused by internet disconnecting for example, the fault localization is necessary. However, because of high customizability and a wide variety of components, identifying of the cause of fault becomes complicated. In this paper, we propose a new fault localization method for mobile devices. The traditional fault localization method does not identify the cause of fault in environment that the combination of the components varies. We introduce a software agent on a mobile device. The agent monitors behavior of the components of mobile device. We also introduce a server. The server analyzes the combination of components by collecting the log which are outputted from components. The server performs the fault localization method cooperating with the agent in the mobile device. We evaluated our method of the fault localization. |
