A Consideration on Relation between Feeding Structures and Effect of Shield for Coils in Wireless Power Transfer with Magnetically Coupled Resonance

(in English) Recently, the wireless power transfer(WPT) technique with magnetically coupled resonance attracts our attention. This technique, however, is apprehensively supposed to have some serious effects on human bodies and other electric devices due to electromagnetic field generated by transmitting and receiving coils. Therefore, this paper proposes the way of using a shield in the WPT system so as to reduce leaked electromagnetic field and also investigates basic characteristics of using a cavity-type shield. First, difference in shield effect between direct feeding and indirect feeding systems is considered. Next, the size of shield in the both feeding systems is examined. The shield effect is evaluated in terms of transmitting efficiency and leaked magnetic field. As a result, it is clarified that indirect feeding is more robust than direct feeding from the viewpoint of transmitting efficiency degradation. On the other hand, direct feeding can reduce a little more the leaked magnetic field than indirect feeding. From the consideration of size of shield, it is found that the size variation of shield has different influence between the two feeding systems.
