In real-time systems, predicting execution time of each task precisely
takes the systems to significance of maintaining real-time execution
since the predictions can be given as some hints to task schedulers.
However, it is difficult to predict fluctuation of execution time of
tasks precisely because of many causes such as resource confliction and
change of execution path. In this study, we focus on cache misses
which are a significant part of fluctuation of execution time. Some
ARM processors have SRAMs which can be switched from cache memories and are
controlled by software interface. The proposal of this paper can
achieve improvement of real-time execution by adding,
to real-time operating systems, the functions that can dynamically allocate
TCM resources to tasks and can estimate accurate laxity time of tasks. |
