Error Rate Performance of Multi-pulse PPM/CSK on Ultra Wideband Impulse Radio using Frame Synchronization Method with Differential Detection

(in English) In this paper, the authors investigate error rate performance of MPPM/CSK system on UWB-IR. MPPM/CSK system uses two kinds of frame synchronization systems: (i) preamble system, which adds a frame synchronization sequence to the head of each frame. (ii) differential detection system, which makes a frame synchronization sequence by detecting the received signal differentially. They carry out computer simulations taking IEEE 802.15.4a channel model into account. As the result, they show that the error rate performance of the differential detection system is better than that of the preamble one in a low additive white Gaussian noise and multipath fading environment.
