Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, drug delivery and gene transfer into mammalian cells have been aggressively performed using a laser-induced stress wave (LISW). However, it is not theoretically and experimentally enough results to comprehend the acoustic signature of LISW devices. Currently, a confined geometry using a poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET)/black natural rubber (NR) structure is examined as typical LISW device, in which a PET film is fixed on an NR sheet by using an adhesive. In this geometry, an acoustic signature is caused by ablation of target and explosion of laser-generated plasma. The formation of an acoustic signature must be influence of an adhesive, because nonlinear effect such as an impulse coupling between laser and laser-generated plasma is occurred in an adhesive layer at the PET/NR interface. This paper reports the influence of adhesive from the observation of acoustic signatures generated by LISW device.
