As a key technology for realizing Software Defined Networks, OpenFlow is proposing. With OpenFlow, features provided by a network can be flexibly defined by implementing a control plane application called OpenFlow controller. A major issue for developing/operating an OpenFlow controller is that it is hard to debug/analyze controller's behavior because there is no unified/efficient mechanism for collecting states from various network elements including inside OpenFlow controller, OpenFlow switches, and end-hosts. For solving this issue, we are developing a unified framework for collecting/analyzing various states from various network elements as a part of OpenFlow controller platform. In this paper, we show the design and performance evaluation results of the framework based on a prototype implementation. The performance evaluation results showed that our framework could efficiently collect a massive amount of states from various network elements in a unified manner. |
