Relation between acoustic features and impression evaluation in singing voices.
Shun Kojima, Takeshi Saitou, Masato Miyoshi (Kanazawa Univ.) SP2011-164
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) As expression denoting several characteristics of singing voices, there are impression words like vocal timbre and singing style. Relationships between the impression words and acoustic features, however, have not been investigated particularly. This paper investigates a relation between subjective and objective similarities among singing voices about five impression words. Subjective similarities are evaluated through listening test and objective ones are calculated by using some acoustic features like MFCC and ΔF0. The comparison results showed that subjective similarities about two impression words were calculable by using MFCC and ΔMFCC.
