Applying Transfer Learning to the Implementation of an Interactive FAQ Search System

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have developed a method of implementing an interactive FAQ search
system using transfer learning. This paper focuses on how to deal with
an addition of new FAQs. If a new version of the product/service is
released, new FAQs corresponding to the new version have to be added to
the existing interactive FAQ search system. If we try to learn the
dialog control policy from the data of the dialog between the users
and the operators, it is not feasible because the data about new FAQs
are not available. To solve this problem, we try to apply a transfer
learning technique. The experimental results show that our method
performs well if the number of newly added FAQs is small.
