Circular movements were measured to investigate a difference between dominant and non-dominant hands in motor control. Three display conditions were designed: (1) the position of a subject's hand was visible always, (2) the position of a subject's hand was invisible during movement execution, and (3) some via-points were displayed on the path of an example circle. There was a considerable difference between dominant and non-dominant hands in curvature and mean power spectrum of velocity of trajectories. Moreover, the value of data concerning curvature descended with delayed visual feedback. We suggest that time-delay of feedback using vision and proprioception affects asymmetry of arm motor control. |
