A Comparison of Modeling Methods for Problem Domain by using Cognitive Grammar

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Problem domain modeling, such as Soft Systems Methodology, System Thinking, or Concept Data Modeling (CDM), is subject to the influence of the “native language” of the country where they were designed. Then, based on a cognitive English structure, we compare the existing problem domain modeling methods in meta-level. The meta-level comparison shows that each modeling method consists of a subset of countable noun, uncountable noun, action verb, and stative verb. Moreover, although the “static model” of Teshima’s CDM has a similar form to a well-known Conceptual Class Diagram, the two diagrams are not equal.
