[Invited Talk] Multilevel modeling of physiological systems and nervous systems using PhysioDesigner

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) As new interdisciplinary scientific research fields such as integrated life science is advancing, the importance of mathematical modelings and simulations of multilevel physiological systems are increasing. This article introduces a software application PhysioDesigner and model description language PHML which have been developed for supporting such modeling and simulations. PhysioDesigner provides graphical user interface to build models of physiological functions. Those models created on PhysioDesigner were written in PHML format, which is a specification of XML. Simulations on the models can be done with Flint application which has been developed concurrently with PhysioDesigner. Flint can perform a parallel computing for big simulations. In Physiome.jp, there is a model database of ISML which is XML based modeling language perfectly compatible with PHML.
