We are advancing research on an ultra-realistic communication system using three-dimensional (3D) image systems that are able to reproduce 3D images as if the objects were actually there. We are developing the several autostereoscopic displays, such as a large size 3D display using multi projectors, a tabletop 3D display of 360 degrees viewable for tabletop task, a cubic-type 3D display for hand-held applications, and other elemental techniques for glasses-free 3D video. This paper describes outlines of the 3D communication systems and the details of the large size 3D display using multi projectors, and future works. |
