In this paper, we propose a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction scheme based on adaptive peak amplitude cancellation for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, where peak amplitude of OFDM signal is iteratively suppressed by adding a specific peak cancellation (PC) signal which has flat frequency spectrum over signal bandwidth in frequency domain and sharp peak amplitude at the midpoint of pulse waveform in time domain. In the proposed scheme, both adjacent channel leakage power ratio (ACLR) and
error vector magnitude (EVM) are automatically adjusted so as to meet a given requirement. In the proposed scheme, both PAPR reduction performance and system requirements such as in-band distortion and out-of-band spectrum radiation are simultaneously taken into consideration; both ACLR and EVM are automatically controlled to meet the requirements. Computer simulation results prove that the proposed PAPR suppression scheme effectively reduce PAPR of the OFDM signal in MIMO systems, while both ACLR and BER requirements are simultaneously fulfilled. |
