Magnetically Blowing out of Break Arcs Restricted by the Wall

(in English) Silver contacts are separated at constant speed and break arc are generated in a DC200-450V and 10A resistive circuit. The transverse magnetic field of a permanent magnet is applied to the break arcs. The wall is installed above contact gap to restrict the motion of the arcs. The height and width of the wall are varied and the influence to arc duration, the time from the arc stretched to arc extinction and the motion of break arcs are investigated. As results, the arc duration and the time from the arc stretched to arc extinction become long when the width of the wall is 30mm, the height of the wall is 1mm and the supply voltage is increased. When the width is 15mm, the arc duration hardly changed. It is confirmed that the arc duration and the time from the arc stretched to arc extinction becomes longer when the width is 15mm.
