| (in English) | Depletion of IPv4 address space is now a big concern for all ISPs, TSPs, and well as content providers. IPv6 is the only way to solve this problem. However, transition and migration from IPv4 to IPv6 is another big issue. There are several number of techniques, depending on environment and operating conditions. In this project, we present a migration tool by using 6rd (IPv6 Rapid Deployment on IPv4 Infrastructures) implemented on a low-cost small home gateway. This similar technique has been deployed in COMCAST. Our contribution is we have built 6rd on a low-cost small home router, which is easily to find it from market, with some enhancement features, to allow simply use. Two main features are added: 6rd configuration tool with web GUI. This feature is for advance users. The second one is 6rd auto-configuration. This feature is for most end users, where IPv6 connection will be automated set up without end user participation. In our experiment, we use UniNet (Thai University Network) for our testbed. We put 6rd boarder gateway at UniNet core network. We have shown that, without any modification, users in IPv4 UniNet with 6rd Home Gateway can access to all IPv6 services. | |
