Dynamic Analysis of Facial Expressions based on Depth Image Sequence

(in English) This paper describes the development of a methodology for spatial and temporal analysis of facial expressions based on dynamic depth image analysis. We propose a methodology for dynamic facial asymmetry analysis based on the amount of the morphological change of both the left and right-hand side of the face. To obtain the amount of the morphological change in the face, the curvature at each pixel is computed according to a predetermined threshold. The amount of the morphological change of face shape is then calculated by comparing the discrete values of the same pixel at different time instances. We conducted several experiments and verified the feasibility of measuring dynamic physical features of the facial expressions.
