It is important to understand liver shape and its vessel structure before hepatic surgery. In this paper, we proposed a method to extract the liver vessel structure automatically for patient-specific surgical simulations. The proposed method is composed of three processes: (1) extraction of vessel using multiscale filters, (2) thinning of extracted vessel, (3) labeling and vessel structure analysis. The system has potentials to be used for treatment/surgical planning, and even as a guided surgery system. |
