In the MHz range, the longitudinal wave in cancellous bone often separates into fast wave and slow waves depending on the trabeculae structure. Slow wave is influenced by the properties of bone marrow. We measured ultrasonic properties (wave velocity and attenuation) of human bone marrow. We used human marrow which disposed at the total knee arthroplasty from the patients of 68-76 years old. The individual differenceof ultrasonic properties were small.Ultrasonic wave properties of human bone marrow were similar to those of bovine fat. |
