An Interpretation of "The Mechanism of Meaning" by ARAKAWA+GINS (5) -- On Improvisational Beauty in "Harukasuru Surusurunagara III" of Yoko Yamamoto --
Kimiaki Tokumaru (System Engineer) TL2012-59
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The author has been investigating on the digital nature of human language. In digital communications, words are translated into meanings at the source. As the linguistic memories are accumulation of post-natal individual events and thoughts, the translation is not universal but arbitrary. In order to overcome this constraint, it is necessary to newly create improvisational word strings that are not rejected as foreign words in vocabulary and should not invoke individual memories.
