Single-carrier MIMO Adaptive Multiplexing Order Selecting Transmission Using Cyclic Delay Pilot Channel Estimation

(in English) There is a trade-off between the spatial diversity and the spatial multiplexing in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems which use multiple transmit and receive antennas. In a conventional cellular networks, the throughput can be increased near the center of the cell by the spatial multiplexing because the received signal-to-interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) is high. On the other hand, near the cell edge, the spatial diversity is effective because the impacts of path loss and co-channel interference (CCI) from neighboring cells which use the same frequency are large. Recently, we showed that the maximum throughput can be achieved by adaptively controlled the trade-off between the spatial diversity and the spatial multiplexing assuming a single-carrier (SC) MIMO transmission. However, in the previous study, we assumed the ideal channel estimation. In this paper, we discuss the impact of cyclic delay pilot channel estimation (CDP-CE) on the throughput of MIMO adaptive multiplexing order selecting transmission. The multiplexing order is selected using the channel estimate and (interference+noise) power estimate obtained from CDP-CE. We evaluate the throughput by computer simulation and discuss the impact of the channel estimation error.
