CoMP JT (Coordinated Multiple Point Joint Transmission) is one of the key technologies in LTE-Advanced to improve the cell-edge performance. We developed a prototype system to realize the CoMP JT. The system works on eNBs (evolved NodeB) that are connected by an asynchronous IP-based X2 interface. We developed a GPS-based synchronization scheme for the simultaneous transmission from multiple eNBs to a UE (user equipment). We conducted an experiment in a laboratory as well as in real field. We will explain the detail of the experiment. |
