[Invited Talk] Mode-divisioin multiplexing technology for realizing ultra-large capacity transmission

(in English) Recently, mode-division multiplexing transmission has been intensively investigated because the transmission capacity can be increased greatly by using this technology. In this paper, we report mode MUX/DEMUX and transmission fiber for realizing ultra-large capacity transmission system with mode and conventional multiplexing technologies such as WDM or PDM. Finally we experimentally achieved 2-mode MDM transmission in S-band by using fabricated mode-MUX/DEMUX and PCF.
