Modeling and Noise Propagation Mechanism of Electrostatic Discharge on PCB in Contact Mode

(in English) The accuracy of electromagnetic field simulations of the electrostatic discharge test into a PCB in contact mode has been improved. In this study model, we have refined the model of the ESD-gun discharge tip and of the region around the observation point on the PCB.As a result, the deviation from the peak value of the measured waveform was reduced to less than 10%. With the improved model, we simulated the coupling mechanism to a microstrip line and to a stripline, and we found that the noise directly propagating through the air from ESD-gun was larger than the conductive noise transmitted through the ground connection.
