Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, Delay- and Disruption-Tolerant Networking (DTN) has attracted remarkable attention as an information-communication technology capable of a reliable performance in challenged network environments, such as disaster situations where communication network infrastructures can be severely damaged. The store-carry-forward routing scheme is a method to forward messages in DTN whose mobile nodes store and carry them for forwarding to destination nodes. When we assume the mobile nodes as humans, their mobility patterns are generally considered non-random, but localized around particular paths and locations. If we can possibly estimate their localized patterns beforehand, the store-carry-forward routing is supposed to be more efficient because of achieving more frequent encounters with destination nodes. In this paper, we considered how to specify the paths and locations using GPS data of daily human mobility patterns. We also considered periodicity of the human mobility patterns. Assuming that their localized patterns are described by a multiple-order Markov chain, we created a human mobility model. Furthermore, we also proposed a method for predicting mobility patterns based on the model, then evaluated its performance using GPS data. Consequently, we confirmed that human mobility patterns were actually localized, and also found that our method had a good performance on detecting the localized paths and locations.
