Optical Packet Switch Network Using Multiple Links From Each Server Rack for Data Centers

(in English) One approach to construct the data center network that provides the low latency and large bandwidth communication is to use the optical packet switches at the core of the data center network. In this network, multiple optical packet switches construct the core network, and the server racks are connected to the core network by connecting them to the optical packet switches. To achieve the robustness against failures of the optical packet switches, each server rack should be connected to multiple optical packet switches. Such multiple links from each server rack do not only satisfy the robustness against failures but are useful to provide the low latency and large bandwidth communication between server racks. In this paper, we propose the data center network topology using the optical packet switches that can achieve the low latency by using the multiple links from each server rack efficiently. We evaluate our topology and clarify that our topology can provide the low latency communication.
