In this paper, effect of wireless network coding scheme using the frame slotted ALOHA protocol is investigated on the butterfly-type network model and the line-type network model. In particular, the average packet acquisition time, which takes to receive the packet of the source node, is analyzed in the presence of packet collision, propagation loss, white Gaussian noise and Rice fading. Consequently, it is found that there is an intersection between the system with the network coding (NC system) and the system without network coding (woNC system) on the butterfly-type network model. In the line-type network model, the NC system is superior to the woNC system. Moreover, in the both network model, it is found that the propagation loss is a dominant factor attenuating the performance degradation. |
