Transfer and retrieval of telecom-wavelength picoseconds single-photon qubits to quantum dots

(in English) We demonstrate the coherent transfer and retrieval of picosecound single-photon time-bin qubits to a quantum dot ensemble at a telecommunication wavelength using a photon-echo technique.The visibility of interfered photon-echo signals which determines the transfer/retrieval fidelity of time-bin qubits was estimated to be approximately 98 % for a 200-ps storage time.Moreover, we found that the retrieval fidelity is independent of storage time for at least 1 ns.Our result shows that a quantum dot ensemble which has large inhomogeneous broadening of optical transition of excitons in conjunction with a photon-echo technique is promising candidate for realizing the ultrabroadband (terahertz range) light-matter quantum interface which is operable in the telecommunication wavelength range.
