[Special Talk] Development of the 8-pole 2GHz band spiral resonator BPF which formed the attenuation pole by tap electric supply

(in English) In this paper, the characteristics of the filter, which was fabricated for 2012 student microwave circuit design contest, is explained. In the prototype of 2GHz BPF, by adopting multi-stage configuration of spiral resonator with micro-strip structure, we designed and fabricated a Chebyshev-type 8-pole band-pass filter to improve the attenuation performance. In order to obtain a larger attenuation, tap feeding scheme for input and output couplings are introduced to form attenuation poles on both sides of the pass-band. By tap feeding, scheme the part of the resonator works as an open stub, which can make an attenuation pole at an arbitrary frequency depending on the length. It was confirmed that the fabricated filter could form an attenuation pole on both sides of the pass-band and desired insertion loss, pass-bandwidth and attenuation. were obtained Also it was considered that the deterioration of attenuation performance due to coupling between input and output ports via radiation was suppressed by a shielding case, which was designed in consideration with the cut-off frequency. Finally, attenuation performance more than 103dB was achieved.
