| (in English) | With recent advances in SDN research and the standardization of tenant network management by cloud management system communities such as OpenStack, it has become possible to construct tenant networks on demand from cloud management systems. When migrating from on-premise environments to tenant networks however, it is desirable to have Layer 3 firewall (L3FW) and deep packet inspection (DPI) functionality to ensure secure connections between tenant networks and other segments. This report proposes evaluation items to verify whether a given L3FW product can be managed from an open-source cloud management system and can be used in commercial applications. The report also provides the results of an evaluation using the proposed evaluation items of a software L3FW product that can be operated from OpenStack. The evaluation was able to verify that the product delivered sufficient functionality to be used with cloud services. | |
